Age Concern Fuengirola Mijas & Benalmadena is an independent local charity run solely by volunteers and governed by an Executive Committee.
We provide a variety of services and offer a wide range of activities and opportunities to English speaking people over the age of 50 every week, including those who may be vulnerable or socially isolated.

The Challenge
Old website provided little in a way of information for the charity users and sponsors. The website had no means of promoting events, including regular clubs run in the area, or special events such as fundraising, trips, events organised for members, etc.
Changing or adding new content was not easy, and required good understanding of coding, hence specialists had to get involved for any changes to the content. This resulted in the content becoming out of date.
The Solution
Cognisant Hosting selected a WordPress theme, which reduced the development costs. The new website included Responsive Design so website could be used by any type of device. The new theme also used Elementor content management, which enables the charity staff to edit or add content to the website, ensuring the content is always up to date.
An event plug-in was added, so that events can be promoted to the members, including dates and times. Visitors can now enquire about specific events, and reserve a ticket where appropriate.
The Result
The new website has enabled the charity to promote their services to a wider audience, recruit volunteers, and showcase their events effectively.
